I spent my 9 month old birthday with my cousins, Anna and Ryan, and my Uncle Turkey and Auntie Dawn in Walla Walla. We all celebrated the New Year together. It was a lot of fun :)

Happy Hanukah!
I can't wait to open my Hanukah gifts. Mommy and Daddy keep reminding me that you only get to open one gift a night, but as you can see, I don't necessarily agree :)

My first Rosh Hashanah!
Shana Tova! It's the Jewish New Year and Daddy did it up right... honey chicken kabobs, apple kugel, apples and honey, and homemade challah. That is going to taste good in mommy's milk tomorrow! I celebrated last Rosh Hashanah in mommy's tummy in Israel, but enjoying this one outside the womb was much better! :)
Don't put me in the oven Daddy!
I'm going to get you Truck!
Uh oh... caught red handed.
Homemade challah... oh daddy, you have out done yourself!

Feeling a bit better today!
I still had my cough today but am starting to feel a bit better. I laughed and played with mommy throughout the day and even talked to Auntie Carly for a little while (who will be here tomorrow!) And Auntie Stacy is not far behind... she comes in on Thursday! It's going to be a fun girls' weekend. I must be feeling better because I burped and pooped at the same time today and totally startled myself... mommy thought it was pretty darn funny... geez, thanks mom.

Still feeling yucky
Finally a picture! I still had my little cough and a bit of a sneeze this morning. Mommy called the doctor, but she said as long as I am eating ok, things are fine. I still loved to eat and didn't have a fever, so we didn't need to go to the doctor. But I was pretty tuckered...
After playing in my jungle gym for a little, it felt good to sleep on my tummy... kept the lungs clear.
I was out like a light.
Mommy had to pull my arm out from under me so it wouldn't fall asleep too :)

My first cough :(
So I woke up this morning with a tickle in my throat... my first one ever. Mommy said I had the cutest cough ever, but it made her sad that I was sick. Daddy blames it on the snot factory we visited. I spent most of the day snuggled next to mommy in bed, feeding and sleeping. That made me feel better (I think mommy liked it too :)

Josef's 3rd Birthday
Another day without a picture :( I went to my first birthday party today... my friend Josef across the street turned 3. I got watch him try to break a pinata and open presents. It was fun, but I can't wait until I'm big enough to play too!

Lunch in Seattle and Mt. Si Fest
Mom and I met big Liz and little Liz (who was visiting from Chicago) at Anthony's in Seattle for lunch today. It was a perfect sunny Seattle summer day! I enjoyed eating in the sun and sleeping in the shade under my blanket. We ended the day with a quick visit to the Mt. Si Festival (where daddy got a $35 parking ticket for parking in the wrong direction. Only one cop in North Bend and he managed to find Daddy's Kia!)
Whatcha lookin at?!
Bouncing on Daddy knee... one of my night time favorites!
Back on the bouncy ball with Daddy!

My first soccer game...
... undocumented. Now that our camera is gone (see my camping trip post from last weekend), pictures seem to be few and far between. In fact, tonight I went to my first soccer game (mommy and daddy's outdoor league) and I don't even have a picture to share. In the words of the Moore family, 'Oh well' :) It was a fun time. Daddy played goalie and mommy ran around the field and came to take care of me on and off. My favorite part was when Nick and Willie were stuck with me on the side line... I was pretty cranky and they had no idea how to calm me down. Mommy had to sub out of the game and come rescue them and me! :)

Hanging with Mommy AND Daddy!
I got to hang with mommy in the morning today... we went and checked out the Wilderness Rim chalet where all of our neighborhood parties are at. Mommy volunteered to be the special events chair, so we were getting the low down. Then I got a great surprise... Daddy got done with jury duty early and came home to be with me... it was great!
Mommy and I trying to do an sp (self portrait) in the bedroom mirror
There we go... that's better!

Strong legs!
This is how mommy found me on Tuesday morning. Ha, ha... daddy better do a better job of securing my legs when he puts me in my sleepsack at night. I'm pretty darn strong!
Can daycare handle me?!
After I started the day by kicking my self out of my swaddle sack, mommy and I went to check out some daycare places... one in home and one center. I cried at both... not sure if I was just fussy or if I don't want to leave our living room. Mommy and daddy weren't sure about this daycare thing... they nicknamed one of them 'the snot factory' :) Daddy is going to try to get a morning schedule at work so he can come home and watch me in the afternoons while mommy works... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that!

Lunch with Daddy
Daddy has jury duty this week (which he almost forgot about), so Mommy and I met him for a picnic lunch downtown today. We walked over to the Waterfall Garden in Pioneer Square where we all enjoyed a yummy lunch!
Where's Aspen? It's like Where's Waldo... except you're looking for me :) I am all over the place now that, starting last night, I can roll from back to front AND front to back!

The morning after...
Well, I made it through my first night of camping. If it weren't for Mommy and Daddy getting in and out of the tent twice in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I would have slept all the way through!
Ah, nice and warm in my coug hat and duckie pj's against mommy!
After a quick diaper change, we headed off for a morning walk down to Icicle Creek.
Daddy took some pretty good pictures of me by the river.
In fact, he declared this one the best photo of me EVER! Boy did he ever jinx himself. Moments later, Daddy would be using the composting toilet and accidentally drop the camera in the toilet. Some men might go to war over this adorable face.... my daddy went digging into a composting toilet!
This would be the last photograph ever taken on our Canon S1000 family camera.
While Mommy and I concocted an ad hoc changing table, Daddy was quickly becoming the talk and hero of the Lower Johnny Creek campground. After an hour long valiant effort, he recovered the camera and saved my first camping trip pictures!!!! We would later dispose of everything except the camera card :) Daddy - I love you, you are definitely the world's greatest Daddy and I am so lucky you're all mine!

Super Saturday - Part 1
Today was awesome. It started out by opening a package from Nana and Grandpa. They gave me this cool musical instrument so I could join Daddy's band. I also got this great pj set too... thanks Nana and Grandpa!
Super Saturday - Part 2
After playing with the goodies from Nana a little longer...
Mommy and Daddy gave my 'bald spot' a little inspection... how embarrassing! Does the hairdo look more like Donald Trump or a mullet? You be the judge :)
Then Daddy finally planted the Aspen tree Mommy and I got him for Father's Day!
Here we all are together... Daddy and his two Aspens :)
Finally we hit the road for my first camping trip!
I was snug as a bug (I just couldn't decide which picture I looked cuter in :)
Here I am relaxing in our tent! We went out to Leavenworth down Icicle Creek Rd and camped with Dru, Allie, Ryan, Julie, and few others at Lower Johnny Creek campground.
My first nap in a tent. It was great!
How do you like my new travel camping crib?
After my nap, we went walking around a bit and hung out by the campfire.
And got cozy!
And went for an evening walk.
Super Saturday - Part 3
Here is a little video footage of Daddy planting my Aspen tree - hope he's a better green thumb than Mommy is!

Working at home with Daddy
Daddy was on duty today. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have to share of the day. Daddy was hard at work (check out that funny headset) while Mommy was giving her last Pathways2Passions presentation to high school students at Pacific Lutheran University. I can't wait for the weekend when we can ALL hang out together!

Mickey Mousing around - Part 1
Just hanging in my Mickey Mouse outfit and chewing on Smokey. I think my first tooth might be coming in... I sure like to chew and drool on everything.
Including my own hands :)
Mickey Mousing around - Part 2
I started to roll over last week, but only did it while Mommy and Daddy weren't looking. I figured after frustrating them a bit, I would finally show them my stuff! :)

Playing with Daddy
I'm getting pretty good at rolling over. I started where Daddy was and got myself all the way over here. So then Daddy decided to enjoy my playmat.
Hey Daddy, what are you doing under there?!
You're so silly :)
The one problem with a full head of hair... it's a never ending spit up trap :) Mommy thinks I look like a little hasidic jew here with my curly side burns ;)

Swimming Rattlesnake Lake - Part 1
Auntie Laura watched me today while Mommy had a work meeting. When Mommy got home, we all went to Rattlesnake Lake to watch Laura do a training swim for the upcoming Danskin Triathlon in Seattle. Laura decided she wanted Mommy to go with her, so we waited for Daddy to join us. Here they go...
Swimming Rattlesnake Lake - Part 2
Here they go... seemed like the water was cold. I was a little upset for them. Daddy and I watched from the shore while Mommy and Laura swam across the lake. I was very impressed, especially since Auntie Laura has a fear of swimming in open water. I thought I was going to have to jump in and save them at one point, but I forgot my swim trunks :) Good luck at the Danskin on Aug 14th Auntie Laura - you'll do great!

A Superwoman Monday
Now that I fit into 3-6 months, I've unlocked a whole new wardrobe! I love my Superwoman onesie :)
Do I have a lot of hair or what?! I think I might even have more than Daddy ;) Daddy taught me a new trick tonight... it's called "throwing your socks on the floor and driving mommy crazy" :)
Sunday, 31 July 2011
I turned 4 months old today!
Yep, I am now 4 months old - can you believe it! I can almost sit up all by myself :)
Woo, hold on Daddy, I can't quite keep myself upright yet :)

Lummi Island Adventure - Part 2
We went to Lummi Island close to the San Juan Islands this weekend. It was Rex's mommy's (Melissa) 30th birthday, so we celebrated at their cabin.
In honor of Melissa's birthday, I wore the cool onesie she had made for me! This is also the first time I wore 3-6 mos old clothes. Goodbye 0-3mos, watch out 3-6mos!
Lummi Island!
While the adults laid in the sun and played dominoes, we had some of our own fun...
Rex and I had a stand off... I might be a bit lighter but I'm definitely taller!
The gang of 3 (Rex, Gage, and me). We were all born between the end of March and the beginning of April :)
Gage and I wanted to see who could hold their head up longer during tummy time...
Woo, that's tiring. You win Gage... I need a break ;)
Gage shared his bumbo with me - I did not like it! I even tried to launch myself out of it, but daddy caught me just in time.
Here's Gage with his mommy Kristy. Thanks for a great time everyone - this was fun!
