My baby girl isn't a baby anymore. 3 years old! Happy Birthday Aspen Lyn. Oh how we love you :)
And in the spirit of 3, we attempted to celebrate this momentous occasion for 3 months. It all started in February when Nanny came to visit and treated Aspen to an awesome weekend adventure at Great Wolf Lodge for her birthday.
A few weeks later Aspen had a joint "butterfly" birthday party with her cousin Grace in Spokane
It was quite the party. Auntie Amber sure knows how to throw a birthday party!
Aspen loved her butterfly wings
And especially loved catching the butterflies in her butterfly net
I think cousin Caleb enjoyed himself as well!
Daddy with the birthday girls
Happy Birthday Gracie and Aspen!
All the little butterflies
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
I think someone loved her cupcake
And couldn't wait to dive in!
The celebration continued a week later when Aspen got to celebrate with all her friends in Seattle at her Doc McStuffins doctor birthday party.
Aspen and her friends took good care of all of the stuffed animals
Aspen was a pro at the grape race, having perfected it at her party the weekend prior.
Doc Aspen is taking good care of Lambie
Inga, Maxwell, and Aspen can't wait to play some games
The "get your daily exercise" station was a big hit!
Aspen had fun jumping with all of her friends
Hi Birthday Girl!
Mmmm, snack time!
What are these silly girls up to?!
Present time
James couldn't resist all of the doctor themed treats
Aspen fixed Daddy's boo boo during the boo boo game
What a fun party!
Nice "band aid" cupcakes Dad
The little doctors even managed to turn the clubhouse coffee table into a playhouse.
Go Doc Aspen, Go!
Thanks Mom for a fun party!
And if the party didn't totally wear Aspen out, the Seattle Sounders game that "Auntie" Laura treated her to certainly did.
On Aspen's actual birthday, she woke up and listened to the Mickey Mouse Birthday song, opened presents, and put on this pretty "tutu" outfit from Nanny.
And then she got to celebrate with all her friends in her class at the JCC.
It was also her last day at the JCC but a pretty memorable one. I'm not sure who is going to miss the other more, Aspen or Teacher Sofya.
I think the dirt pie I made was a hit with Aspen's friends. Cool whip, pudding, and oreo cookies - how can you go wrong?!
Yom Huledet Sameakh!
We finished off the day with a special birthday dinner at Red Robin - thanks Grandma and Papa Great! Aspen even drank her sundae through a straw!
And the final birthday surprise was a big girl bed!
Someone looks comfy!
You may be 3, but you're still our baby girl ;)
We capped off the 3 month birthday celebration with Aspen's 3 year old check up with Dr. Nirmal on April 1st! Aspen got on the table all by herself and even wore a gown. Such a BIG girl! And the numbers to prove it: 31 pounds and exactly 3 feet tall!
The birthday song in the morning!
